Born and raised in Taylors SC Matthew grew up in and around the building industry. At the age of ten Matthew's father taught him how to do electrical work and together they did the electrical wiring for some new homes over a couple of summers. After graduating from high school, Matthew worked for a local roofing company where he learned many different aspects of building construction and maintenance. In 2008 Matthew and Rachel as newlyweds started a home maintenance and repair business that they ran together for the next 8 years. During this time, they were blessed with three daughters. Leona Grace, Ali Mae and Maggie Marie. In 2012 they closed the home repair business and opened Dryer Vent Wizard of Upstate SC. Since opening in Greenville, Dryer Vent Wizard of Upstate SC has served over 10,000 people in the Upstate and has over 500 Google reviews with a 4.9 Star rating. Although he is the owner of the franchise, Matthew enjoys being in the role as a technician, where he can meet and interact with the customers. In addition to his everyday work within the business, Matthew also trains many other franchisee owners and technicians. This has allowed him to build strong and lasting relationships within the franchise model and he is constantly working on ways to make it better and stronger. When he is not covered in lint or crawling around in a customer’s crawlspace, Matthew enjoys time in the mountains with his girls, playing pickleball with friends and worshipping in his church. An avid dog lover, he has never met a dog he doesn’t want to jump around with and routinely goes home covered in dog hair.

Passion – serving others is what gets me going in the morning. Drive – since I was a child I desired to help and serve others. At times, I’d rather work than eat. Motivation – seeing the joy in my clients’ eyes and the smile on their face is what makes me happy and motivates me to do what I do. As a seasoned technician I’ve learned over the years to focus on doing what it takes to do the job right. I strive to provide the most help for the least cost and greatest return on investment. In my spare time, you’ll find me gardening, working on my “honey do list”, serving my church or loving on one of my 14 grandkids. -

Joined Dryer Vent Wizard as a technician in February 2023. I was born in Kingsport, Tennessee which makes me an avid University of Tennessee Fan. (Go Vols) At the age of 10 my family and I moved to Kansas City, Mo which obviously makes me a Kansas City Chiefs fan. (Go Chiefs). I also had the privilege of living in Lugoj, Romania for about 18 years. In Romania, my wife and I served as missionaries and worked in local Romanian orphanages. My time in Romania changed my perspective on what is important, and gave me a desire to serve others no matter who they are or where they are from. What I love about being a Dryer Vent Wizard technician is meeting people from all over who have settled in the Upstate. I truly find joy in helping our clients have safe and efficient dryers, regardless of what team they may or may not follow.
